Steve Gerhardt, AICP, is a versatile urban planner with over 30 years of experience in development entitlement, environmental impact analysis, and urban revitalization as both a planning consultant and public-sector planner. Project experience ranges from the preparation of General Plans for entire communities to Specific Plans for targeted neighborhoods and in-fill development projects, transportation master plans, pedestrian and bicycle master plans and traffic impact studies. As Executive Director of Walk Long Beach, he focuses on encouraging walking for mobility, recreation, wellness and economic vitality, adoption of more robust plans and infrastructure for pedestrians, promoting policies such as Vision Zero/Safe Streets for All and Safe Routes to School, and the creation of more walkable neighborhoods and corridors throughout the City of Long Beach.
